Do you have cafes and restaurants nearby?
There is a takeaway by the pier in Portsalon. The local golf club also offers meals. Nearby you can find The Narrow Quarter and Ripples Restaurant in Kerrykeel. Opening hours depend upon time of season.
What do we need to bring with us?
You should come prepared for all weathers with outdoor clothing and sensible footwear for our rural site. We provide king sized duvets but you may wish to bring extra blankets/hot water bottles – remember you are camping ireland! Please bring your own towels. We have very little lighting around our site in our aim to limit light pollution so you may want to bring torches. Our kitchens are well equipped – just be sure to bring all foodstuffs you need.
Do you have shops nearby?
There is local shop in Portsalon with a limited range of goods. There are general stores in Milford, Kerrykeel and Ramelton and a Lidl in Milford. A full range of shopping options available in Letterkenny.
Can a group of adults book a yurt?
No, we do not take adult group bookings. Our yurts are suitable for two adults or for lone travellers.
Can I get a local bus?
There is a daily service from Letterkenny to Portsalon – check the up to date timetable for the Local Link bus number 300
Do you welcome children?
No, we are now an adult only site. We have found our site to be most suitable for couples and solo travelers rather than groups and families.
Are you accessible for people with disabilities?
Yes. We have ramped access and electricity in our largest yurt. We have accessible toilet and shower facilities. As a rural site, the terrain is very rough in places. We will do our best to accommodate anyone with any disability and if there is anything we can do to make your stay more comfortable please ask. We welcome your contact in advance to discuss your requirements.
Do you allow camp fires and barbeques?
Yes, we do allow both camp fires and barbeques. We ask that you use the designated areas around the yurts and that you exercise due care at all times. We have small, simple portable barbeques that are available for your use
Do you allow alcohol on your site?
The sensible enjoyment of alcohol is welcome on our site. We ask that you are always considerate to other guests in respect of noise. Please dispose of all empty bottles and cans in the recycling facilities available or you can dispose of them locally in the bottle banks in the beach car park
Do you have any noise policies?
We ask that you adhere to our ‘quiet times’ from 11pm to 9am with respect to your fellow guests and to our neighbours. Sound travels a long distance in our peaceful environment and what you may consider to be normal chatter may keep other guests awake.
Do you provide firewood and barbeque coals?
We provide a complimentary basket of wood/kindling/firelighter for your stove. If you require more it is available to buy on our site. We sell barbeque coals
Can we pitch up our own tent?
No, we do not have pitches for campers. Our site is for the exclusive use of visitors to our five yurts as advertised. We have specific maximum occupancy of our site and are unable to exceed this so are unable to allow tents alongside yurts either. There are other sites locally who do provide camping pitches
Do you provide hard pitches and electric hook up for caravans and campervans?
No, we do not provide any hard pitches or electric hook up for caravans and campervans. Our site is for the exclusive use of visitors to our five advertised yurts. There are other sites locally who provide for tourers
Do you provide towels and bed linen?
We provide bedding for one king sized bed. We do not provide towelsA
Do you serve meals?
We do not provide any meals but have self-catering facilities for you to prepare your own meals.
Can we cook inside the yurt?
No, cooking is not allowed inside the yurts for health and safety reasons. We have well maintained and well equipped self catering facilities available to you in our kitchen/lounge building 24 hours per day.
Do you have an on-site shop?
No, we do not have an on site shop. There is a local shop in Portsalon a mile from our site
Is your site suitable for large groups?
No, we do not cater for large groups.
Do you allow pets?
No, we are sorry but we cannot accept pets on our site and are unable to make exceptions to this rule
